The selection of golf courses was superb, especially being able to play the same courses as recent and upcoming major professional tournament, such as Portstewart (2017 Irish Open), Royal Portrush (2019 & 2025 Open) and Adare Manor (2027 Ryder Cup). But perhaps the greatest experience was sharing it with a great bunch people. “Adding to our reflection on the trip, was-Ashford Castle with the BAGPIPES-to welcome us-and the wonderful way you organised the film-THE QUIET MAN-(private viewing!!)-popcorn and lollies.!!!! Then walking into the village and seeing the-Statue and having a delicious meal at an inn (suggested by a Caddy),talking to the locals. Staying and playing at -Adare Manor was also fantastic as after playing-a very different course -parkland  from Links. It was an ideal respite in the middle of the trip. Then going into the Thatched Village to a terrific Pub, recommended by our Caddy, where we had a DELICIOUS MEAL in welcoming atmosphere and walking around the area just outside the Manor.-it was lovely!! Driving down to -Hogs Head -which was so  Opposite the Castles-but still spectacular views was another highlight  There is no doubt-YOU ARE THE ULTIMATE TOUR GUIDE-Nothing is too much for you and you ALWAYS GO THE EXTRA MILE TO HELP.!!! “All courses were excellent – far too good for me! But my purpose to travel is to learn about people, both present and past, and how they live their lives, what’s important to them. So what I’ll remember in years to come are people like Eoin, Ray, Donal and the guide in Belfast who gave insights into how Irish people live and think. For the same reason I would include the whole experience at Erne Castle which gave an insight into a very different part of Irish life. Similarly drinks at Graham’s home and playing with Helen at Portrush. I’ll remember these people and what they told and showed us about themselves, their lives and their community, more than golf. I’ll certainly remember their thought on what Brexit might bring and I’ll watch closely how this plays out in Ireland. So I feel privileged to have met people like Lord Erne, Donal, Steve at Malahide, Eoin, Graham and Helen because they were open and generous with us and taught us about themselves and their country. I came away with, I think, a better understanding of the Irish and how deeply they love Ireland and identify with it. And, of course, the same goes for you. With your unique insights into both Ireland and Australia and your Irish charm (!), you added to our experience in countless ways beyond your excellent organisation and management of the tour.
