Ireland has once again been named Best Destination in Europe by Travel Weekly readers in the United States at the annual Readers Choice Awards the gala dinner on Dec. 10 in New York- an incredible 12th consecutive year at the top.
Recognition like this reinforces what we experience first-hand every day: Ireland’s enduring appeal for international travelers and the exceptional experiences on offer across the island.

This evening I was delighted to attend the Causeway Coast Chamber of Commerce function at Adelphi Hotel Portrush, part of @Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts.
It is one of our valued accommodation partners for the Excelerator Luxury Golf Tours in Ireland Ladies’ Golf Invitational in May 2027.

The atmosphere was warm and festive, with superb hospitality, wonderful food, drinks (The Bramble Cocktail made with local gin went down a treat) and excellent company.

It was great to catch up again with Steve Frazer Managing Director of City of Derry Airport and to hear the exciting news that direct connecting flights from Dublin Airport to Derry will launch in 2026, with twice-daily morning and evening services – a hugely positive development for tourism across the North West and Causeway Coast.

I was also delighted to connect with so many businesses in the region, including Mervyn Whyte MBE Event Director of the North West 200, members of the Marine & Lawn team and wider business community, including Yasmine Peacock, Devon Craig, Lexy Halliday, Karen Yates and Joan Beggs

Another outstanding hotel property and venue in the Portrush and Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council region – evenings like this really showcase the strength of collaboration across tourism, hospitality and events.
