Monday brought more than just sunshine and practice rounds at Royal Portrush. As players and caddies arrived from the Scottish Open and took to the course, the day closed with a truly memorable evening.
Had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with good friend and Royal Portrush Lady Captain, Naoimh Quig, enjoying the build-up and buzz around the club as the week unfolds.
Later, attended a special Club Members’ Cocktail Reception, held in the Scorers’ Marquee along the 1st fairway. The evening honoured three individuals who have made an incredible impact on golf and Portrush:
Darren Clarke and Graeme McDowell – with two holes formally named after them on the Dunluce and Valley courses.
Ricky Elliott, Portrush native and world-class caddy, was awarded honorary membership at Royal Portrush.
A wonderful celebration of talent, tradition, and the legacy of Northern Irish golf — fitting for a week that’s already shaping up to be unforgettable.
